Florida Districts Widely Adopt ClassLink as Their Single Sign-On Solution

Clifton, NJ - May 26, 2015 - ClassLink continues to lead the way in Florida with seven large districts, serving over half million students and teachers, embracing the award winning solution. ClassLink delivers one click single sign-on to any website and access to school network files from anywhere. This tremendous growth comes as Florida schools are looking for a simpler technology experience for both students and staff, and lower costs.

Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), the 10th largest district in the United States and the 4th largest in Florida, recently adopted ClassLink districtwide. ClassLink will provide OCPS’ 180,000 students and 21,000 staff with single sign-on accessible from any device, anywhere.

“We were looking for a cloud-based, single sign-on solution that would provide easy access to resources for students and staff and also fully support Google Apps integration and we found it in ClassLink,” said Mariel Milano, Director of Digital Curriculum at Orange County Public Schools.

Florida districts are choosing ClassLink for its ease of use and greater functionality. In addition to providing single sign-on to websites, e-textbooks, and remote Windows applications, ClassLink gives students and teachers access to school network files at home and at school. And unlike competing products, ClassLink requires few servers, and district-wide setup takes less than an hour.

“I’m not surprised that ClassLink is gaining traction in Florida. Our districts are large and very diverse,” said Matthew Frey, Education Technology Manager at Brevard County Schools. “ClassLink allows us to promote a core set of digital tools to all schools, while also letting students and teachers customize the apps they see.”

Tina Barrios, Assistant Superintendent, Polk County Schools added, “We chose ClassLink because we were looking for a single sign-on solution to help us manage the digital content and resources for staff and students. The rostering, provisioning, and authenticating of digital assets that ClassLink provides using IMS global standards best met our needs.”

“We’ve been dedicated to easy and instant access to learning resources since 1998 and over the years we’ve created great relationships with school leaders and publishers around the world.” said Berj Akian, Founder and CEO of ClassLink. “What’s happening in Florida is an overwhelming statement of support for our approach to single sign-on and an endorsement to the free and open IMS Global LTI technical standards.”
